Today was my first day in my new class at school. At the end of the day the class teacher started reading The Twits by Roald Dahl, (she actually called it The Tits but she corrected herself before any of the children noticed). She gave me a gentle nod as the first chapter described how some men have hairy faces. The chapter then went on to describe how horrificly dirty beards can be if they get particularly long and unkempt. At home time, 27 pairs of eyes belonging to 5-7 year olds gave me the most terrified look before leaving the room.
In hindsight, The Twits probably wouldn’t have been my first choice of children’s book for home time.
